Jezzy B for Smirnoff's National Margarita Day
A whole day to celebrate margaritas? Yes, please! National Margarita Day was February 22, but Smirnoff took it one step further by hosting an event to showcase their Spicy Tamarind. And you already know Prism’s very own DJ Jezzy B was bringing the heat at the turntable as the brand event DJ for this very spicy soiree.
Though we may not typically think of vodka and margaritas together, Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind is changing the game with its Mexican-inspired flavor profile full of tangy, sweet, and sour notes. It’s the perfect base for a fresh take on a timeless classic, and Smirnoff even provides the recipe for what they call the Spicy “Tama-Rita.” Oh, and the bottle glows under black light!
A drink like this deserves a party, and what a party it was. Co-hosted by the one and only Angel Merino in LA’s legendary Lincoln Heights neighborhood, the Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind x National Margarita Day bash was quite the affair. The event was themed with a vibrant Latin feel, and guests were treated to the full gamut of complementary indulgences — adorable fruit cart refreshments, specialty craft cocktails, and makeup sessions with Angel, just to name a few. And, of course, DJ Jezzy B provided her own fiery lineup of Latin jams to keep partygoers — like the amazing Hector Rocha — vibing and dancing the whole time.
To honor the Latin heritage at the heart of the holiday, the beverage, and the whole she-bang, DJ Jezzy B curated a mix of Latin Pop, Afrobeat, Reggae, Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Reggaeton, Dembow, Hip Hop, and Dance Hall. The tracks in her set had the dancefloor sizzling. Crowd favorites like Bad Bunny’s “Titi Me Pregunto,” Beyoncé’s “Cuff It,” and basically every Selena song created some memorable social media moments, all captured by Mike Sincere, a dear friend of Prism DJs family.
This Smirnoff pop-up event was, by all accounts, outrageously fun and successful. DJ Jezzy B’s Latin flair behind the booth set the perfect tone for the occasion – spectacularly spicy, just like Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind.
Prism DJs and DJ Jezzy B are extremely grateful to Smirnoff and Rose Gold Collective for the opportunity to represent the female DJ community in Los Angeles for the Smirnoff Celebrates National Margarita Day festivities. It was such a thrill to be a part of such a colorful and lively event.
