Sophenom x American Heart Association's Heart Ball
Prism DJs is honored to have had our talented team member, DJ Sophenom, perform at the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heart Ball. This prestigious event is a testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting non-profit organizations that make a significant impact on the community.
The American Heart Association’s mission is close to our hearts. They are dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, two of the leading causes of death globally. Through education, research, and community outreach, AHA works tirelessly to improve the cardiovascular health of individuals and communities. Their Heart Ball is an annual event that not only raises crucial funds for this cause but also celebrates the survivors, donors, and volunteers who make their life-saving work possible.
This year’s Heart Ball was graced by several notable attendees. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made a special appearance to present the Centennial Award to his cardiac surgeon, Dr. Richard J. Shermin of UCLA Health, and longtime AHA donors and volunteers, Susan Shermin. Actor Brooklyn Mclinn also moved the audience with his inspiring story of surviving two heart attacks, a stroke, and a heart transplant.
DJ Sophenom set the perfect tone for the evening with a carefully curated playlist that matched the elegance and significance of the event. To kick things off, DJ Sophenom blended classy, uptempo tunes to energize the crowd, followed by cool remixes of Sade and Roy Ayers. As the pre-ceremony unfolded, guests enjoyed a softer, jazzier selection of contemporary songs in the style of John Mayer and Adele, creating an intimate atmosphere for conversation and reflection.
The night’s festivities continued with a dance party featuring crowd favorites. The guests couldn't resist singing along to "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor and dancing to the vibrant beats of "Conga" by Miami Sound Machine. The younger crowd, including kids and teens, enjoyed the latest hits from Taylor Swift.
A particularly memorable moment was when a couple took to the dance floor to showcase their Tango moves to Carlos Gardel’s timeless tunes. Later, a VIP guest requested music perfect for a Fox Trot, which added a special touch to the evening’s dance party.
One of the highlights of the night was hearing Lisa Loeb perform her hit song "Stay," which added a nostalgic charm to the event.
